Minibus to Kao San Road

I left paradise on Koh Chang with a minibus. Is Koh Chang paradise? No its one of the most beautiful places I have been, I have meet some sweet peaoble.. I think the season was wrong because a lot off the small islands was closed so if you want great diving go in the high season.

Burn money?

6:30 in the morning what to do? Go to a Thai Buddhist temple and pray. Then later go with your sort off substitute family to a Chinese temple (the elephant tempel or Chao Po Ko Chan (meaning Godfather of Ko Chang)) to celebrate the ending of the ghost festival (15th day of 7th lunar month) .

The color of bug

There are a lot of colorful bugs in Thailand. One day I noticed 4-5 dragonflies hunting around a pod so I got some pictures.

Bang Bao redux.

So I went to Bang Bao again, the deal was originatly to go 3 person on the motorbike. But because off rain we ended up taking a taxi. The road was even worse than i rememberd.
But is was not the road that was the ting that made the most sweat that day.

The ugliest bar girl in Thailand?

I needed a cup of coffee so i went into a beer bar behind the counter a big bald man stood.
I asked for a Tiger and a cup of coffee"what a strange request" the reply was. "Well not to bee impolite but you are the most ugly bargirl a ever saw".

Luck comes in different flavours. Here on Koh Chang are one off the dangers (the other one are the currents this time a year) to get a coconut in the head when they drop from a tree, but no problem to get a coconut in the head means luck.

Born to be wild or born again?

My self confidence was high, not because I had been in temple and said the prayer “please little Buddha don’t let me screw this up”.

The naugty birds

Ha at last a got a picture of one off these birds that’s always around. Everywhere I have stayed in Thailand there have been a pair off these birds. They are very loud and very active and curios so it’s hard to get a picture off them because they are all over the place they never sit still.

Bus 999

To go to Koh Chang I took the Sky train from Nana to Ekamai the eastern bus station in Bangkok. Bus 999 for Laemngop goes 7.45 and 9.45. I was glad I took the later because the first part of the trip to the bus station in Suvarnarhumi was twice as fast compared to the trip with into Bangkok E3 because we avoided the rush hour. From the airport the bus uses highway no 7 then goes east after Jomtien to go in the direction of Rayong. Here to landscape changes from the flatlands of the Chao Phraya River and becomes more diverse with small hills and lots off forest and farms with fruit trees.

Well that was a great trip with buss 999 (I will come back to that later)
But as I took a rusty old ferry to Koh Chang bad weather was cooking in the horizon.
