Krung Thep Mahanakhon

I had a plan about writing about the Thai name for Bangkok because its the longest because its the longest place name in the world. Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit.
In Thai its รุงเทพมหานคร อมรรัตนโกสินทร์ มหินทรายุธยา มหาดิลกภพ นพรัตน์ราชธานีบุรีรมย์ อุดมราชนิเวศน์มหาสถาน อมรพิมานอวตารสถิต สักกะทัตติยะวิษณุกรรมประสิทธิ์
and can be also written Krung-dēvamahānagara amararatanakosindra mahindrayudhyā mahātilakabhava navaratanarājadhānī purīramya utamarājanivēsana mahāsthāna amaravimāna avatārasthitya shakrasdattiya vishnukarmaprasiddh.
Wikipedia also sais that Thai remember the name using a popular pop song by the brothers Asanee-Wasan Chotikul. I thought its was like a children song, but when I looked up on Youtube some days ago I found this great video.



Wow what a great song and the video is great to. Because it really caches the spirit of that great chaotic urban sprawl (except the humid air, the noise and the smog).
It shows a lot of the fantastic sites, but also shows scenes from ordinary Thais daily life in Bangkok. One has to admire these hard working people ability to smile and be polite and friendly even if there life is so hard.
